It all started with the Polaroid camera that Francine was gifted as a child but her first true film camera was a Pentax K-1000. She learned to develop black and white film in the photo labs at Lexington High School under the guidance of the mysterious Mr. Z. (Jack Zichitella). Diving through fashion & entertainment magazines helped fuel the passion she needed to pursue photography as a career. After graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in Cinema & Photography (minor in Advertising & Public Relations) she was off and running to follow her dreams on the big streets of New York City.

In her early days she learned the ropes by photo assisting and traveled around North America and Europe, with various photographers including movie star/photographer, Meg Ryan. When they enjoyed daily meals together, Francine had what she was having.

Since then, she has photographed luminaries such as Queen Latifah, Paul Rudd, Cynthia Nixon, Mandy Patinkin and has been published in Vanity Fair, The New York Times & Rolling Stone.
